Sailor Saturn (Musical version)

Hotaru is eventually able to transform into Sailor Saturn. She is known as the Senshi of Silence, and has power over destruction and rebirth. She is especially recognizable for the Silence Glaive she carries, which she may use to bring about the cataclysmic destruction of a world or worlds. However, she has the ability to heal minor wounds in both her civilian and senshi forms. Her uniform is fairly unique, with petal-shaped sleeves and a star brooch (resembling the "Pure Heart Crystals" that appear in the third story arc). Its colors are purple and maroon, and she wears knee-high, laced up boots.

In the manga, Sailor Saturn did not live among the other Senshi in the Silver Millennium. In fact, her coming had always been prevented by the Outer Senshi, as it was thought that allowing her to come into existence would mean the destruction of their worlds.

The Outer Senshi in the Silver Millennium were not supposed to be reborn. But they gathered together because of the destruction of the Silver Millennium, summoning Saturn and awaking her from her sleep. She then killed the remnants of the Silver Millennium and they were reborn on Earth.

In the anime, all of the Senshi (including Saturn) had lives on the Moon Kingdom and their represented planets, and were all reborn with Princess Serenity and her court.

Goodbye Pluto

Sailor Pluto appears in just a few TV episodes, and observations show that she really has only one true attack, "Dead Scream"; unlike the other Senshi's attack phases, "Dead Scream" is whispered rather than shouted (in the English dub it is known as "Pluto Deadly Scream", and it is yelled out like the others). Like all the Senshi of the Outer Edge of the Solar System, Sailor Pluto wields a weapon, a long key-shaped staff with a garnet jewel at its top, called her Garnet Rod, through which she focuses her power. The jewel that rests on top of the Garnet Rod (the Garnet Orb) is the third mystic talisman that forms the Holy Grail. Pluto's staff helps her control time as well as activate her attack, and is the key to the gates of time (along with the set she carries around her waist); the Garnet Rod always protects those with good hearts.

Another power that Sailor Pluto possesses is the ability to stop time, though it has been forbidden due to its potential for negative consequences. However, like the other rules set upon her position (never to leave the time gate and never use it to transport others), it was broken. While Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus are in the front compartment of a helicopter going to the "Mugen Gakuen" establishment, the daimons that have surrounded the school attack the helicopter, immobilizing its rotors. As the helicopter was almost about to explode, Sailor Pluto used her time stopping power to save the other passengers. While Neptune and Uranus were safely teleported onto the building, Pluto was thrown into a dimensional rift, and did not re-emerge until much later (skipping an entire season in the anime version). It is uncertain if she wound up in the rift due to the nature of the power or as a punishment for using it.

According to executive producer Janice Sonski, the final dub name chosen for Pluto, Trista, was chosen on account of the meaning of the name Setsuna. Setsuna can mean moment, but can also be a derivative of 'setsunai' meaning sadness. In the same vein, Trista, which derives from Latin's triste, also means sadness. An early dub by DiC may have rendered her name as Susanna. The packaging of Irwin dolls released in Canada in 1998 called Setsuna by the name Celia.

Super Sailor Jupiter

Makoto can transform into Sailor Jupiter. Her dominant element is wood, but unusually most of her attacks are based in her secondary power: lightning.[2] This is in reference to the Roman god Jupiter who had used lightning as his main weapon. She is by far the physically-strongest of the "Inner Senshi," able to lift a full-grown man above her head (anime episode 25), or to stop a stone pillar from falling (live-action Act 21). Her uniform colors are green and light pink, and she wears short laced-up boots. In the manga and live-action series, she carries a transparent ball filled with potpourri on a chain belt at her waist. In the early manga, she always has a short antenna coming from her tiara; eventually this takes on the same role as in the anime, and appears only when she summons lightning. It does not appear in the live-action series.

Super Sailor Mars

Rei is able to transform into Sailor Mars. Her powers are mainly fire-based, and all are offensive attacks. As a priestess, she possesses a certain amount of psychic ability, and is able to do fire-readings, sense danger, and banish evil spirits. She is the secondary leader of the "inner" Senshi, after Sailor Venus, in the live-action drama. Her primary uniform color is red, with some lavender, and she wears high heels when transformed. In the manga and live-action drama, there is a small jewel at the waist of her uniform.

Sailor Saturn & Mistress9

(from Wikipedia)

Hotaru is introduced first as a friend to Chibiusa, but often experiences seizures due to a sickness. It is only much later that she is discovered as a Sailor Soldier, being last of this solar system's soldiers to fully realize her powers. Hotaru tends to be very logical, dependable and loyal. She is also very independent and did not have friends until she met Chibiusa and Usagi. She was said by Naoko Takeuchi, her creator, to be quiet and precocious as well as expressionless. She was not popular with her classmates because of her powers and her strange seizures as well as personality changes for being the host of Mistress 9, the evil entity that lived in her after the age of 5.

Mistress 9 - During the third story arc of both anime and manga, Hotaru's body was possessed by an alien known as Mistress 9. She was used as a a tool of the Death Busters during this time.

Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon

ChibiChibi is a fictional character in the fifth and final season of the Sailor Moon series. She is estimated to be about two years old, and can't really talk yet, though she knows a few simple words and likes to repeat what other people say (to learn how to talk). In the anime, she mostly says "chibi," hence her nickname.

Her pink hair is always seen put up in two heart shaped odango, with little ringlets sticking out the sides. She is first seen in the manga, floating to earth using an umbrella as a parachute, saying "Chibi chibi!"

In both stories, ChibiChibi ends up with the responsibility of protecting Princess Kakyuu. In the manga she transforms into Sailor ChibiChibi and carries a heart scepter with what looks like a planetary ring around it which she uses to defend herself and Sailor Moon. In the anime she can also transform into a Sailor Senshi, Sailor ChibiChibi Moon. She does not appear to have an attack phrase as the other senshi do.

When Tokyopop announced it was translating the 'Stars' arc of the Sailor Moon manga, ChibiChibi's English name was initially RiRi (an abbreviation of ChibiUsa's dub name, Rini), though this idea was soon dropped.

Sailor Neptune

Michiru transforms into Sailor Neptune. She uses ocean-based attacks (not just water), and carries the Deep Aqua Mirror, which is one of three Talismans carried by the Outer Senshi. She takes a black-and-white approach to her role as a soldier, one shared by Sailor Uranus, who is virtually always at her side. Her senshi uniform is sea-green and deep blue, and her shoes resemble heeled ballet slippers. Her gloves extend only to mid-forearm.

Sailor Uranus

Haruka transforms into Sailor Uranus. Though she is described as the soldier of the sky, her attacks make reference to the World and to Space. She is one of the more aggressive senshi, and carries the Space Sword, which is one of three talismans carried by the Outer Senshi. Sailor Neptune is her constant companion, and they are rarely separated. Her senshi uniform colors are dark blue and yellow; she wears heeled boots and short gloves.

Super Sailor Mercury

When transformed, she is known as Sailor Mercury. She is given specific titles throughout the various series, including Soldier of Wisdom,[5], Soldier of Justice and Wisdom,[6] and Soldier of Water and Knowledge.[7] Sailor Mercury's abilities are water-based, and initially most of them are strategic rather than offensive.[8] She is the "brains" of the Sailor Team,[9] and possesses a special "mini-computer" and visor, helpful for making special calculations and scanning her surroundings. This small computer allows her to learn about the enemy's weak points. Her Senshi uniform is colored in shades of blue, and in the manga (first series) and live-action drama, does not have sleeves. In every version, she wears knee-length boots.

Eternal Sailor Moon

Eternal Sailor Moon is a title that is received by Sailor Moon at the end of the fourth major story arc (Dream in the manga; the first part of Sailor Stars in the anime). She attains this form in Act 42 of the manga and Episode 167 of the anime.

In the anime Sailor Stars, Eternal Sailor Moon has a radically different transformation sequence and ending pose. Her uniform has been drastically altered; her gloves have increased in length as to cover her entire arm, and the design of her boots is different as well. In addition, she has also grown wings on her back. However, these are ornamental in their appearance as they don't actually enable her to fly. Her tiara is omitted, exposing a crescent moon symbol on her forehead. In the manga, Diana said that this incarnation is as powerful as Neo Queen Serenity.

In the manga, Eternal Sailor Moon uses the Silver Moon Crystal, which is an evolved form of the Silver Crystal, (Original Volume 15, Act 41) to do her attacks. In the Sailor Stars anime it's less clear whether the crystal she is using is still called the Silver Crystal. The names of the attacks are congruent with the manga, which uses the name of the new crystal, but the crystal is not clearly given a new name.

Super Sailor Chibi Moon

Sailor Chibi Moon is called Sailor Mini Moon in the English adaptations. She is the embodiment of sweetness, and as the daughter of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask she exhibits traits of both parents in battle. While she has the lunar alignment of Sailor Moon she often uses many distraction techniques that Tuxedo Mask uses in the anime.

In the manga her powers were far more significant than her anime counterpart — much of what she did actually destroyed and killed enemies. She attacks in tandem with Sailor Moon often combining attacks with her, though she did combine one attack with Tuxedo Mask. She also received her own prince, and it was heavily indicated she would marry him in the future. Specifically through Helios's dreams, saying they would meet again and indicating that Helios was her prince. She also develops and matures as a Sailor Soldier throughout the manga, getting her own Sailor Team, the Sailor Quartet and eventually saving Sailor Moon's life.

In the anime she was made into more of a comic character that has little to no effect on her enemy. She used mainly distraction techniques and played a side role, instead of a role that was directly useful to the Sailors. While her powers were specifically based on Sailor Moon's in words, they were more like that of her father's — distractions rather than effective attacks. She linked her powers with her parents' in the movies, but not in the TV series. It is clear though that she does have some true raw power, as seen in Episode 81, and in the final battle sequences where she uses the Silver Crystal. However, when she uses her powers as a regular character this never comes into true play.

Sailor Venus

In the Sailor Moon series, Minako's primary Senshi form is that of Sailor Venus. She refers to herself as the 'Soldier of Love', and many of her special powers are based on this title rather than on any specific element. Other attacks incorporate metal (the element traditionally associated with her planet) or moonlight (a vestige of her previous role as Sailor V--see Other forms). Sailor Venus is the de facto leader of the Inner Senshi, and in turn is under the sometimes-awkward leadership of Sailor Moon. Her uniform is colored in shades of orange and yellow, with a splash of dark blue. In the manga and live-action series, she wears an item called the "wink chain" around her waist; in every version she wears flat orange shoes.

As Sailor Moon, she is the de jure leader of the group known as the Sailor Senshi. Her attack names center around the moon, love, mystery and light. She starts out as a frightened, reluctant girl, but gradually comes to accept who she is. She starts out being the weakest soldier but then becomes the most powerful Senshi in the Sailor Moon universe, but her capacity for caring about other people is frequently shown to be more powerful still. Her Senshi uniform, which takes three distinct forms throughout the series, is generally colored in red, blue, yellow, and pink. She also wears knee-length boots and ornaments in her hair, with a motif of small crescent moons on various parts of her uniform.

As she grows stronger, Sailor Saturn gains additional powers, and at key points her uniform changes to reflect this. The first change takes place in Act 39 of the manga, when she obtains the Saturn Crystal and her outfit becomes similar to that of Super Sailor Moon. She is not given a new title. A similar event takes place in Episode 168 of the anime, and she is given the name Super Sailor Saturn. A third form appears only in the manga, also unnamed but analogous to Eternal Sailor Moon.
